Student Created Infographic about Pastry Chefs

October was a phenomenally busy month. Since the Enrichment focus has been on careers, we have done quite a few things to really help kids discover what they might like to do. As most of you know, we had the entire school go to the Space Port. There they learned that they do not have to be a rocket scientist to get to work there. They learned about the numerous opportunities such as firemen, culinary positions, custodial, engineers, marketing coordinators and more.

Many other students were also able to attend the 10X25 Creativity Conference. This conference introduced students to the rapidly growing film industry here in Las Cruces. The creators of this conference were so impressed by our students that they have invited them to not only participate in the creation next year's conference, but to have a panel in it as well.

Students have also:

- Created infographics about their careers;

- learned to login to Xello and explore career options with a matchmaker inventory;

- worked side by side gaining hands-on experience to refinish furniture with parent volunteers;

- gained more hands-on experience with yet another parent volunteer learning how to bake;

- AES students learned about Digital Manufacturing at Cruces Creatives;

and on November 16th - The entire student body will have the opportunity to participate in MVLA's own Career Fair organized by the Amazing Mrs. Martinez and Mrs. Binkley!!!

As amazing as all of this is, I'm sure I have left out many other amazing opportunities my teachers have provided our students. So if you have not done so lately - Thank a teacher! They are incredible!
