MVLA Students holding their 2nd Place prize for the Knowledge Bowl

The LCPS District held the Middle School Knowledge Bowl on Dec. 4 at Sierra Middle School. Teachers Mrs. Katie Day and Mr. Carlos Arzabal worked diligently to organize the event.

Knowledge Bowl is a tournament-style competition where teams of four face off, answering trivia questions. There are two rounds of competition, the first is the preliminary round where all teams compete to determine placement in the final round. The final round is single elimination to determine the winning teams in each grade level. Trophies will be awarded to first, second, and third-place teams in each grade level.

MVLA competed against students from Lynn, Sierra, Picacho, and Camino Real- over 70 students participated- more teams than we have seen in years! Outstanding MVLA students Yi-tsian Gong, Team Captain, Carter Chamberlin, Wyatt Strait and Gracie Gould formed the MVLA Team and won second place in the competition! Congratulations!!!
